I love this upcoming weekend! We are one of the sponsors of the Mansfield Downtown Partnership’s ”Festival on the Green” which is taking place this Sunday, September 13th from noon to 5PM.
Festival on the Green Weekend in Storrs, CT
The entire weekend is filled with activities in Storrs CT, and Tom and I will have a booth set up on Sunday at the festival. Look for our banner – “The Burns Real Estate Group” as we will be handing out free popcorn and holding a contest with a $100 gift certificate to the winner!
The festival will be kicking off with a parade and the UConn marching band. Don’t you just love them? I grew up going to every UConn event imaginable and loved it when the UConn band played at football games. How DO they play and march perfectly like that?
Sunday in Storrs, CT: Food, Music & Much More!
If you like great food there will be an excellent chef holding cooking demonstrations and yes, you get to taste the food afterwards…really great! From 3:30 – 5pm, the James Montgomery Band plays, and there is usually a bit of dancing going on. Children will enjoy the pony rides and Kidsville Kuckoo Revue and there is a pie eating contest for anyone who wants to try, not my style, but our 12 year old grandson tried it last year! This just feels like the start of fall to me. I am so sad to see the summer end, but love feeling like part of such a great community and when this event takes place getting a chance to see people I have missed all summer long. Just think, someday it will be the “new” downtown and we will be meeting up for a cup of coffee or glass of wine in the very same spot where the festival takes place!
